Job Summary/Basic Functions

This part-time position will support faculty within the Department of Environmental & Public Health, Administration, and Medical Sciences in implementing activities and deliverables associated with the Strengthening Kentucky's Public Health Infrastructure initiative in collaboration with local health departments and community partners across Kentucky. Funding for this position is provided through a contractual agreement supporting these efforts. Primary responsibilities include:

• Collecting, organizing, analyzing, and summarizing primary and secondary health data to support community health assessment and improvement planning efforts.
• Assisting with the preparation of reports, presentations, data summaries, and other project deliverables.
• Supporting the coordination and facilitation of virtual and in-person community meetings, focus groups, forums, and other engagement activities.
• Assisting with meeting logistics, participant communications, documentation of discussions, and preparation of meeting summaries.
• Supporting collaboration with local health departments, community organizations, and other public health partners.
• Maintaining project records and assisting with project-related reporting and documentation requirements.
• Attending and participating in project-related meetings, trainings, and conferences, including those sponsored by the Kentucky Public Health Improvement Network (KPHIN), Kentucky Academy of Science, and Kentucky Public Health Association (KPHA).
• Performing other project-related duties as assigned.

This position provides practical experience in community health assessment, community engagement, public health data analysis, and health improvement planning while supporting initiatives designed to strengthen Kentucky's public health infrastructure and improve population health outcomes across the Commonwealth.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master of Public Health (MPH) or related degree required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with community health assessment and improvement planning processes preferred.
