Job Summary: CPHS is excited to launch a search for a full-time, Clinical Skills & Simulation Laboratory Instructor in the Accelerated BSN program. This position represents an excellent opportunity for an outstanding individual to join our innovative healthcare degree programs. The Instructor will manage the planning, implementation, and evaluation of experiences within the various clinical skills and simulation learning labs. They will also adapt an interdisciplinary approach to all functions of the college. |
What You'll Need: The successful candidate will have a minimum of a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), along with demonstrated education, or knowledge and experience, related to the education of nursing students. Experience in a simulation laboratory or clinical setting; simulation certification including CHSE (Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator) or CHSOS (Certified Healthcare Simulation Operations Specialist), or interest in obtaining credentials; instructor certification in BLS are preferred. Core Job Duties: Daily operations (35%) - Manage the daily operations of clinical skills and simulation learning experiences. Ensure adequate provisions of supplies to meet clinical skills and simulation learning needs. Assure that the equipment is maintained and cleaned. Assist with tracking and ordering lab supplies. This includes setting up and taking down manikins, technical support, trouble-shooting problems, instructing on proper use, and facilitation vendor repairs when necessary. - (Essential) Teaching and Faculty Support (30%) - Lead teaching of simulation and clinical skills using an evidence-based approach that promotes an optimal learning environment. This includes operation of simulation equipment, task trainers, computerized simulators, and virtual reality procedural trainers. Coordinate with faculty during planning and running of simulation events, applications, prop placement, and moulage/staging the environment to create realistic healthcare settings. Assist with the creation of simulated or standardized patient scenarios. - (Essential) Experiential Support (30%) - Provide support for experiential office as needed; assist with the clinical placement and onboarding of nursing students. Provide clinical support and guidance to students during clinical rotations, as needed.- (Essential) Professional Growth (5%) - Effectively sustain adequate job knowledge, professional growth, and problem-solving abilities, including current evidence in the field of health sciences simulation and clinical practice. - (Essential) |
