Department Summary:

Drake University's Athletics Department competes in the Missouri Valley Conference at the NCAA Division I level. Bulldog student-athletes thrive in the classroom and their respective field of play. Drake Athletics sport programs are considered Des Moines’ Hometown Team.

Job Summary:

Drake University is seeking applicants for a part-time assistant coach for women's tennis. The successful candidate will support a positive academic, athletic, and social environment for student-athletes while creating a culture of excellence and ethics.

Minimum Qualifications:

Knowledge and basic proficiency using Microsoft Word and Excel
Knowledge of applicable NCAA Rules and regulations

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree preferred.
Experience playing at the collegiate level preferred.
Coaching experience at the collegiate or professional level preferred.

Job Duties:

  • 60% - Provide sport specific instruction and guidance to the student-athletes in the designated sport. Contributed to their athletic development through leading assigned practice groups at the direction of the head coach. - (Essential)
  • 20% - Assist with the recruitment of student-athletes. - (Essential)
  • 10% - Assist in the student's ongoing development of professional and sport specific knowledge through established meetings and interactions. - (Essential)
  • 10% - Complete other tasks as assigned by the head coach. - (Essential)
  • % - All of the duties described above require an understanding of and compliance with the rules of the NCAA, the Missouri Valley Conference, Pioneer Football League, Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference and Drake University. - (Essential)
