Job Summary: The Department of Teaching and Learning at Drake University invites applications for an Adjunct Instructor to teach two, three-credit, dual-enrolled (undergraduate/graduate) courses: World Geography and Human Geography. One course will be offered in the fall semester, and the other in the spring semester. These courses are delivered online in an asynchronous format. Course Descriptions: • World Geography introduces students to the physical and human geography of world regions, with an emphasis on spatial thinking, global interdependence, and geographic literacy. • Human Geography explores the relationship between human activity and the physical environment, examining topics such as population, culture, urbanization, and globalization from a geographic perspective. |
Minimum Qualifications: • Master’s degree or higher in Geography, Education, Social Studies Education, or a related field • Experience teaching geography or related subjects at the secondary or post-secondary level • Familiarity with online teaching platforms (e.g., Blackboard, Zoom, Panopto) and instructional design for asynchronous learning • Ability to engage diverse learners and incorporate culturally responsive teaching practices • Strong organizational and communication skills |
