  • Assistant Dean of Students - 998231 in Iowa

    Reporting to the Associate Dean of Students, the Assistant Dean of Students has the responsibility of managing the day-to-day operations of the University’s student conduct system and care response under the direction of the Dean of Students Office within the Division of Student Affairs. This position will supervise the Holistic Intervention Specialist and co-advise Student Senate. An important part of this role is working with the Holistic Intervention Specialist in providing student support and care for timely situations, ensuring that they have the assistance necessary to get the immediate help that they need. This role will provide critical support and leadership by fostering a campus environment that upholds high standards and expectations for ethical and responsible conduct and behavior. The Assistant Dean of Students will work closely with all departments within the Division of Student Affairs and various campus partners to assist in monitoring and enforcing the University’s student compliance and adherence to our community standards including, but not limited to Title IX, VAWA, FERPA and Clery. In addition to working with the Associate Dean of Students, provide training and educational programming/workshops for campus departments and student organizations regarding students’ rights, risk management, student welfare and expected community standards.

    The Assistant Director of Compliance will assist the Assistant Athletics Director for Compliance with all day-to-day operations of a Division 1 NCAA Compliance Office. The Assistant Director will help manage and monitor all pillars of NCAA Compliance including financial aid, education, initial and continuing eligibility, recruiting, Playing & Practice Seasons, Rules Interpretations, and will assist in NCAA reporting. The position requires constant, prompt, and accurate communication to all institutional staff, coaches, and student-athletes. Understanding of all NCAA Applications and NCAA Compliance Software will be important for this position.

    The Director of Accounting, Treasury and Endowment serves as a leader in Drake’s treasury and endowment management function. The Director overseas the administration of the Drake University endowment consisting of over $330 million in investments. The Director maintains the primary operational relationship with the external investment advisor and a number of investment custodians/brokers. The Director administers a variety of investment types including mutual funds, private investments, trusts, annuities, real estate, and life insurance. The Director is responsible for the treasury management function of the University, consisting of cash management and maintaining banking relationships. The Director’s target is to maintain sufficient liquidity, maximize earnings on idle cash, and deter fraudulent activity. The Director works closely with Institutional Advancement to account for all contributions to the University. The Director ensures gifts are recorded properly and coordinates and consults with University constituents on the use of restricted and endowed funding, ensuring the use of funding aligns with donor intent. The Director is responsible for the recording of donor pledges and all financial reporting related to contributions. The Director will have the opportunity to significantly influence the successful implementation of Workday’s Financials systems. The Director reports to the University’s CFO and services as one of five members of the Finance leadership team that provides oversight and strategic direction to the Finance staff. The Director leads a staff of two. The Treasury and Endowment Director is expected to support the University Continuous Improvement Plan initiatives and live out the University Core Values.
