Job Summary

Big Sandy Community & Technical College is seeking a Maintenance Worker to perform duties such as maintaining landscaping, grounds and cleanliness of campus, assisting with routine building maintenance, and maintaining related landscaping and grounds and maintenance equipment.

Job Duties:

  • Maintains grounds to insure the proper time to care for and water plants, reseeds all landscape and grounds as needed, plantings grass, trees, shrubs and flowers as needed.
  • Maintains related landscaping and grounds maintenance equipment.
  • Mows, weed-eats/edges, and removes snow utilizing mowing machines and other equipment.
  • Orders and pick up supplies as needed.
  • Performs room set-up for events, assembles and delivers furniture, and moves and/or hauls equipment/furniture as needed.
  • Serves as backup for custodial work as needed such as cleaning, disinfecting, floor maintenance, and trash disposal.
  • Assists with routine maintenance on campus.
  • May have to travel to assist at other campuses as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED and 1-2 years related experience.

Additional Skills Requested:

Oil change for lawnmower or weed eater.
