Job Summary

The Admission Officer’s primary function is processing a heavy volume of applications for admission and entering transcript data. The Officer provides administrative support in the review, evaluation, development and implementation of Student Development and Enrollment Management.

Job Duties:

  • Application and Transcript Evaluation & Processing –make judgment decisions within Senate Rules. Processes a large volume of applications submitted to the college. Consider requirements for each category of student (i.e. Readmit, Non-degree, etc.)

  • Work with the student information system to alter, correct, or record additional data on an applicant and record admissions decisions. Verify accuracy of application and document data.

  • Address all errors as according to CPE Edit Reports.

  • Conduct audit of all documents at the end of each registration and CPE reporting term.

  • Collect, input, and maintain official transcripts for students' permanent records.

  • Meet and counsel prospective students and parents about admissions procedures. Correspond to applicants regarding inquiries about BCTC.

  • Scan all documents and upload to student permanent file

  • Assist with covering the front desk as needed.

  • Make initial Residency decision.

  • Assist with Registration and Freshman Orientation.

  • Serve as support to the Associate Vice President of Public Relations, Marketing, and Admissions and Director of Admissions

  • Personal and Professional Development - Attend workshops as associated with the Kentucky Association for Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (KACRAO) and other workshops, meetings, lectures, etc. as needed to enhance professional growth.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelors Degree, or equivalent. 

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor' Degree and two years work experience or equivalent.

Additional Skills Requested:

  • Excellent customer service, attention to detail, interpersonal and communication skills

  • Extensive date entry skills, Excel, Word, and Outlook experience
