Job Summary

This is a full-time grant-funded position within the Student Affairs Department. The Project Director will be overseeing the work of the FIPSE Basic Needs Grant for Southwest Tennessee Community College Students. The Project Director will keep up with all FIPSE goals, manage the budgeting of the grant funds, and update key stakeholders at the College community on the progress of the grant project.

The grant project’s goal is to significantly expand the Saluqi Cares program, which addresses barriers such as mental health, transportation, and food insecurity. Key initiatives under the grant include:

  • Mental Health Services: Expanded access to mental health sessions including online support and college-wide suicide prevention training for faculty and staff.
  • Transportation Assistance: Support for public transit passes and rideshare options to ensure students can reliably access classes and campus resources.
  • Food and Basic Needs Access: Enhanced partnerships with online platforms that connect students to a comprehensive database of federal and state benefits, including food assistance, housing support, and financial aid.

Job Duties

  • Monitor all progress of FIPSE goals, objectives, and implementation
  • Maintain project budget and ensure proper use of funds
  • Establish effective communication regarding the FIPSE Project to the College community
  • Coordinate student success initiatives focused on under-served students with partnering departments and offices on campus
  • Collaborate with other departments to promote events and training surrounding the goals of the FIPSE grant
  • Work with the Purchasing team to acquire needed software
  • Partner with the Director for Student Advocacy & Support to ensure goals and metrics are being met
  • Coordinate with the Office of Student Success for student need assessment and surveys
  • Prepare internal/external projects and other reports

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in education or related field
  • Experience managing/coordinating special projects and initiatives
  • Minimum of two years of experience in higher education, social work, or related experience
  • Ability to analyze data for program involvement

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in education or related field
  • Experience working at a Community College
