Position Summary The Instructional Specialist will provide expertise and knowledge on various pedagogical approaches and best practices to support the online and hybrid course delivery in the Nursing program. The Instructional Specialist will collaborate with the Assistant Dean Nursing (ADNur) and department faculty to design innovative efforts in the development and delivery of high-quality online virtual experiences, and ensure that appropriate and equity-based curriculum content and clinical teaching, retention, and completion benchmarks are met in accordance with program learning outcomes and accreditation standards The Instructional Specialist may also be asked to collaborate with nursing faculty on ideas and content to drive the development of interactive activities/games, simulations, and self-assessments that support the learning objectives. The Instructional Specialist will collaborate with the Instructional Design, Engagement and Accessibility Lab (IDEA Lab) to ensure that course designs and online activities are delivered according to the Division of Learning standards. |
Job Duties and Responsibilities Works collaboratively with Nursing subject matter experts to develop and guide instructional design projects both in the classroom and virtually. Works with faculty and IDEA Lab to revise online content, student-centered activities, and course examinations that support the changes. |
Required Qualifications: 1. Two to three years of relevant experience instructional design. |
Preferred Qualifications: 1. Two to three years of experience teaching in a two-year community college. |
