Position Summary

The Academic Data & Operations Analyst (Analyst) leverages technical expertise, data analysis, cross-functional collaboration, and a deep understanding of academic operations to support leadership within the Office of the Provost/Vice President for Learning. This role is pivotal in supporting and optimizing academic data and operational processes. Key responsibilities include serving as the module leader and technical liaison for the faculty contract module in Ellucian, the College’s enterprise resource planning (ERP) system, and preparing comprehensive reports for administrators using query and report-writing tools to collect, analyze, and interpret educational data. The Analyst will collaborate closely with the five Schools in the Division of Learning to maintain data integrity and enhance operational efficiency.

Additionally, the position reviews and recommends improvements to the Division of Learning processes to ensure accurate information tracking and develops communication strategies for sharing updates with stakeholders. The Analyst also contributes to institutional accountability by supporting grant reporting requirements and maintaining organized documentation to uphold compliance and data integrity.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Monitor and complete assigned administrative reporting to provide accurate and timely information through utilization of appropriate software, such as query and report writers, to interpret data and generate reports. Prepare comprehensive reports for administrators based on data analysis. Serve as the module leader for faculty contracts in Ellucian. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to the Ellucian module for faculty contracts. Work closely with the five Schools in the Division of Learning to help ensure data integrity and operational efficiencies. Gather key data to inform faculty promotion and tenure processes.

Build effective working relationships with administrators, faculty, and staff across the college to help promote an environment that fosters communication and collaboration by serving as a liaison on assigned administrative matters. Review and recommend adjustments to the Division of Learning processes to improve data tracking and operational workflows. Stay updated on emerging technologies, best practices in data management, and ERP system functionalities. Effectively communicate outcomes and identify methods for improvement via reports or presentations as assigned.

Assist with grant reporting as assigned, ensuring compliance with grant requirements. Archive files and maintain organized records related to grant activities and other academic operations.

Develop resources and materials to aid in the effective use of data for continuous improvement. Participate in professional development activities to enhance skills and knowledge relevant to the role.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree or higher

Minimum of five years of relevant experience

Experience with higher education enterprise resource planning systems such as Ellucian

Preferred Qualifications:

Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

Excellent project management abilities; strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets; ability to handle sensitive information with complete confidentiality.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and with attention to accuracy, details, and deadlines.

Pay dates occur on the 7th and 22nd of each month. If those dates fall on a weekend, the pay date occurs on the Friday prior to the 7th and 22nd. As an employee of the college, you are eligible for a comprehensive benefits package.
