Join Lake Superior State University's Charter Schools Office team as a Charter Schools Governance and Compliance Specialist. In this full-time role, you'll support the growth and success of charter schools while ensuring they meet regulatory requirements and maintain high standards of operation. 

 

What You'll Do

  • Review and evaluate charter school applications, renewals, and amendments
  • Monitor compliance with state regulations, federal requirements, and university policies
  • Conduct site visits and assessments of charter school operations
  • Provide guidance and technical assistance to charter school leaders
  • Prepare detailed reports and documentation for oversight boards
  • Collaborate with legal counsel on contract negotiations and policy development
  • Facilitate training sessions and workshops for charter school staff

 

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in education, public administration, or related field
  • Experience in educational compliance, governance, or regulatory oversight
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of Michigan charter school law and regulations preferred
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects
  • Commitment to educational equity and student success
