Student Worker - Athletics Ticket Office in Michigan
Student ticket office staff is responsible for the sale & execution of all Laker Athletic ticket sales during all home contests. Students must have strong customer service skills, be effective communicators, be responsible with cash and monies, and be willing to learn the Vivenu ticketing software for all sales. Students may need to do miscellaneous tasks as well, including but not limited to, scanning tickets at entrance of venues, working the Will Call table, organizing pre-purchased tickets. Students will need to be available weeknights & weekends; primary days & hours are Thursday-Saturday, 12 PM-9 PM.

Off-Ice Officials play a crucial role in maintaining the integrity, accuracy, and consistency of game operations through scorekeeping, statistics, timing, and video replay duties in accordance with NCAA and CCHA (Central Collegiate Hockey Association) standards. This position requires a high level of focus, impartiality, and professionalism, as well as the ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced, live game environment. General Off-Ice Official Duties Official Scorekeeper: Maintain the official game scoresheet, including goals, assists, penalties, and shots on goal. Timekeeper: Operate the official game clock and ensure accurate timing of periods, penalties, and intermissions. Statisticians: Track and input real-time game statistics including shots, faceoffs, blocked shots, hits, etc., using NCAA LiveStats or similar software. Remain impartial and uphold the highest standards of competitive integrity.

Lake Superior State University Athletics is seeking an enthusiastic and professional Public Address Announcer to serve as the in-venue voice for Laker Hockey, Volleyball, and Men’s and Women’s Basketball home events. This key gameday role will deliver real-time information, energize the crowd, maintain a professional tone, and contribute to an exciting and welcoming game environment for fans, student-athletes, and visiting teams. Key Responsibilities: Serve as the official voice for LSSU home contests in Hockey (Taffy Abel Arena), Volleyball, and Men’s & Women’s Basketball (Bud Cooper Gymnasium). Provide accurate and engaging live play-by-play information such as player introductions, scoring updates, penalties, fouls, substitutions, and timeouts in accordance with NCAA and conference policies. Deliver promotional reads, sponsor announcements, marketing initiatives, safety messages, and other in-game scripts as provided by LSSU Athletics. Work in coordination with the game operations crew, athletic communications staff, scoreboard operators, music coordinators, and officials to ensure smooth and timely game flow. Maintain a professional demeanor and appropriate energy level aligned with the LSSU Athletics brand and fan experience expectations. Be prepared for and responsive to in-game changes such as lineup adjustments, special ceremonies, and emergency announcements. Attend and contribute to pre-game run-throughs and production meetings, when applicable.

Position Summary Lake Superior State University Athletics is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented NCAA Sports Technical Director. Reporting directly to the Assistant Athletic Director for Game Management, this position is responsible for overseeing live in-venue production elements, jumbotron operations, and multi-media technical aspects of home athletic contests directly from the press box or scorers' table. The Technical Director ensures a high-quality, professional, and engaging game-day environment for student-athletes and fans while maintaining strict compliance with NCAA regulations. Key Responsibilities Jumbotron & Video Board Operation: Direct and manage the live in-arena video board production, including switching internal camera feeds, executing instant replays, playing institutional or sponsor graphics, and coordinating in-game crowd entertainment elements. Technical Game Management: Oversee the setup, operation, and teardown of press box and scorers' table technical systems, ensuring seamless integration of the official game clock, shot clocks, statistical software displays, and public address audio systems. Crew Leadership: Supervise, train, and coordinate student game-day staff assigned to technical roles, including scoreboard operators, replay technicians, camera operators, and audio engineers. Game Management Collaboration: Partner closely with the Assistant Athletic Director for Game Management and sports information staff to execute the pre-game script, timing protocols, and promotional activities flawlessly. Troubleshooting & Maintenance: Perform pre-game diagnostic checks on all stadium/arena A/V and production equipment. Rapidly troubleshoot technical glitches under live, high-pressure sports environments.
