Reporting to the Director of Student Affairs, the Coordinator of Student Life is a passionate, student-centered professional dedicated to enriching the overall student experience through robust student organization support, dynamic leadership development opportunities, and campus-wide engagement initiatives. This new role plays a key part in creating a vibrant campus environment that fosters community, cultivates a sense of belonging, and supports students’ personal growth. In addition, the Coordinator will advise student clubs and organizations, plan and execute student engagement events (including cherished campus traditions), support student leadership programs and initiatives, supervise student staff, and work collaboratively with campus partners to promote inclusive excellence and holistic student success. • Advise and mentor student clubs and organizations by empowering a large portfolio of student groups by providing guidance on leadership development, event planning, budgeting, and membership growth, helping student leaders create vibrant and sustainable organizations. • Organize, plan, and execute co-curricular programs, activities, and campus-wide events that energize campus life, foster community spirit, and encourage broad student participation. • Design and facilitate leadership workshops, retreats, and recognition programs that cultivate students’ leadership skills, encourage civic engagement and promote personal and professional growth. • Recruit, train, and supervise student employees, providing mentorship, feedback, and professional development opportunities to build their skills and ensure effective support for Student Life programs. • Implement programs and services that celebrate diverse backgrounds and perspectives, promote equity, and ensure all students feel welcomed, represented, and supported in a culturally inclusive campus environment. • Work in partnership with faculty, academic departments, and community organizations to develop interdisciplinary initiatives and service opportunities that enhance student learning and strengthen connections across the university and local community. • Regularly assess student needs and program outcomes using surveys, evaluations, and other feedback tools; utilize data and insights to continuously improve Student Life initiatives and demonstrate their impact on student engagement, retention, and success. • Remain informed about emerging trends in student affairs and campus engagement (e.g., through professional associations like NASPA/ACPA), and integrate innovative ideas and industry best practices into student life programming. • Participate in the on-call rotation, providing crisis intervention and support for students during evening and weekend hours. • Other duties as assigned.

Assistant Athletic Director - Men's Ice Hockey General Manager in Michigan
Under the supervision of the Athletic Director, with the guidance of the Head Men’s DI Hockey Coach, the Men’s Hockey General Manager will lead the daily operations of our hockey program including team operations, talent acquisition, roster management, financial allocations, and assist in talent recruitment. The Men’s Hockey General Manager will be the primary liaison for all Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) partnerships, manage student-athlete NIL contract negotiations, NIL agent communications, and financial aid packages. The position will play a key role in software management. Serve as a member of the Athletic Departments Senior Staff and Leadership Team planning for department wide initiatives, projects and vision.

This position is designed to create, manage and promote student-athlete access to support services, life skill development and leadership development. Under the direction of the Athletic Communications Director, the Director of Creative Content will be responsible for enhancing the Lake Superior State University (LSSU) Athletics’ brand in the digital media realm, creating creative content that showcases the athletic department, its student-athletes, and supports its strategic plan, with specific attention to DI Men’s Ice Hockey.
