The successful candidate will support the existing BS in Engineering with mechanical, biomedical, environmental, and computing concentrations. This position has an emphasis on creating an engaging first-year student experience including teaching and coordinating the first-year course sequence, mentoring Engineering Fellows, and building an inclusive and welcoming student environment. Potential for excellence in teaching lower-level undergraduate engineering courses is essential, as is integrating undergraduate students into a research agenda, advising and mentoring students, and contributing to the growth of the engineering program. Responsibilities include teaching a range of engineering courses as well as non-major courses for Elon’s Core Curriculum. Both an undergraduate degree in engineering and a PhD in engineering or related discipline are required.

Department of Nursing faculty member in Elon University Campus

Associate Athletic Trainer in Elon University Campus
The Associate Athletic Trainer functions as a member of the Elon Sports Medicine Staff that is responsible for the day to day administration of healthcare, under the direction of the Team Physician and the Assistant AD for Sports Medicine, for Elon University student-athletes participating in intercollegiate athletics. The Associate Athletic Trainer monitors the day to day activity in one of the three athletic training rooms to ensure all modalities and equipment are functioning and assist the Assistant AD of Sports Medicine in the mentorship of Assistant Athletic Trainers. The Associate Athletic Trainer provides injury/illness prevention, immediate care, examination, assessment, diagnosis, and therapeutic intervention for student-athletes participating in the intercollegiate athletics program and enforces health care policies and procedures regarding medical insurance, physical examinations, and related activities for student-athletes. The Associate Athletic Trainer follows risk management processes and communicates with parents, coaches, health care professionals, administrators, faculty, and student-athletes. The Associate Athletic Trainer provides health care services specifically to designated assigned sports and in general to all student-athletes. This position would work directly with the baseball program.

Assistant Director of Student Involvement in Elon University Campus
As a member of the Division of Student Life and the Student Involvement team, the Assistant Directors of Student Involvement assist in leading efforts that engage students in meaningful campus involvement and align their work to advance our strategic plans. These positions support student success by mentoring and coaching through the development of rich relationships. The assistant directors work directly with student leaders and collaborate across the university to provide community and leadership development opportunities that enhance the student experience. As a member of the Student Involvement team, the assistant directors are responsible for serving as active members of the staff in presence and in communication, maintaining a high level of professionalism, and completing various administrative tasks that support the daily operations of the department. This position also works with other Student Involvement Assistant Directors by creating an environment that engages students in transformative co-curricular learning experiences and promotes positive growth and development. In addition, this assistant director is responsible for working closely with student leaders by focusing on the development of rich mentoring relationships. This position is responsible for implementing alternative, late-night programs hosted in collaboration with campus departments and student organizations. This includes providing direction and support for campus late-night programming initiatives, including executing and coordinating late-night events, assisting with streamlining the “first six weeks” calendar, and advising the Student Union Board (Elon’s student programming board). This position also implements fan engagement activities and school spirit initiatives in partnership with Athletics, including Homecoming Week events and student tailgating. This assistant director provides collaborative support in the development of quality, diverse programs that enhance student life at Elon.

The successful candidate will support the existing BS in Engineering degree and the creation of a new major in Mechanical Engineering. Potential for excellence in teaching lower-level undergraduate engineering courses is essential, as is integrating undergraduate students into a research agenda, advising and mentoring students, and contributing to the growth of the engineering program. Responsibilities include teaching a range of engineering courses as well as non-major courses for Elon’s Core Curriculum. Both an undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering and a PhD in engineering or related discipline are required. ABD candidates will be considered with completion by starting date.
