Position Summary
The Assistant Director of Regional Alumni Engagement is responsible for developing and executing the strategic vision of Elon's 30+ alumni-led regional chapters. The Assistant Director will lead the Coordinator of Regional Alumni Engagement in setting and managing both annual goals and long-range plans for regional engagement. In addition to larger goal-setting, the Assistant Director will be responsible for the direct management of a portion of Elon's alumni-led regional chapters. This includes, but is not limited to, planning and implementing events, creating communications to alumni constituents, recruiting, training, and sustaining new and returning alumni volunteers and serving as a liaison and manger for chapter leadership.
This position reports to the Senior Director of Alumni Engagement.

Minimum Required Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree with minimum 3 years of experience with relevant work experience in volunteer management, project management, event management and communications preferred.
Preferred Education and Experience
Master's degree in Higher Education, Communications, or Business.
Job Duties
- Communications and Engagement
- Manage a portfolio of 30+ alumni chapters, including the direct management of their volunteer boards and annual events. Identify and recruit potential volunteers for alumni chapters to maintain robust and sustainable leadership boards for each. Develop and maintain internal timelines for alumni chapter events including pre-and-post communication schedules; coordinate with University Communications and Advancement Communications as needed. In partnership with the Coordinator of Regional Alumni Engagement, ensure that all digital platforms for alumni chapters are regularly maintained (social media, alumni website, etc.). Execute the annual chapter volunteer retreat hosted each summer in partnership with the Coordinator.
- Management and Budget
- In partnership with the Senior Director, develop and track annual goals for all aspects of regional alumni engagement. Serve as the direct supervisor for the Coordinator of Regional Alumni Engagement. Set, track and manage chapter budget expenditures.
- Other
- Support and staff University Advancement and Alumni Engagement events such as Homecoming, Family Weekend, Evenings for Elon, etc. Other duties as assigned.
