Position Summary

The violence responder will provide immediate response for all reported acts of gender-based violence (including sexual assault, rape, and intimate partner violence) and identity-based bias. They will make referrals for long term advocacy and support as needed. Position requires availability for in-person response Friday 5:00 pm to Monday 8:00 am.

Minimum Required Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree required. Experience and/or coursework in Public Health, Counseling, Higher Education, Social Work, Student development or related field strongly preferred. Must have training and experience in sexual assault response and advocacy, including completed training to serve as an advocate in NC.

Job Duties

  • Serve in the on-call rotation from Friday at 5:00 pm to Monday at 8:00 am. Follow university procedures for response to gender-based violence and identity-based bias, and the violence response system. Follow up with the Assistant Director for the GLC - Violence Response to develop comprehensive plans for after-care support for survivors of sexual and relationship violence.
