Position Summary
Reporting to the Senior Director of Alumni Engagement, the Assistant Director of Graduate Alumni Engagement will provide strategic leadership and programmatic oversight for engagement initiatives serving Elon’s growing graduate alumni population. As part of Boldly Elon, this position is critical to expanding the scope of alumni engagement to include more than 3,700 graduate alumni across multiple schools and programs.
The Assistant Director will be responsible for developing, implementing, and assessing segmented, personalized outreach, communications, and engagement opportunities for graduate alumni, while collaborating closely with campus partners to support institutional priorities related to accreditation, enrollment growth, alumni outcomes, philanthropy, and the graduate student experience. The Assistant Director will also be responsible for building a portfolio of a graduate alumni for personal outreach and relationship development in alignment with overall goals.
The person in this position is expected to be a key leader within the Alumni Engagement team and play a vital role in helping University Advancement achieve its engagement and fundraising goals.

Minimum Required Education and Experience
EDUCATION
Requires bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university; master's degree is a plus but not required. Elon graduates are strongly encouraged to apply.
EXPERIENCE
Three to five years professional/internship experience in alumni engagement, sales, marketing, communications, events, customer service and/or volunteer management preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Position requires strong written and spoken communication skills to a variety of constituencies. Additionally, the position requires strong organizational, relationship-building skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse campus partners and stakeholders. The position requires the ability to work effectively as a team member, manage multiple projects, possess strong leadership, organization and customer relations skills.
Job Duties
- Provide leadership and direction for graduate alumni engagement efforts, developing a comprehensive strategy that supports university, divisional, and school-level goals. Design and implement targeted engagement programs, communications, and events for graduate alumni populations across academic units, including the School of Health Sciences, School of Law, Williams School of Education and Love School of Business.
- Partner with academic programs to support accreditation requirements, alumni surveys, outcomes reporting, and measurable engagement metrics. Serve as a liaison between the Office of Alumni Engagement and academic units to ensure consistent, collaborative, and mission-aligned graduate alumni engagement efforts.
- Coordinate with alumni engagement team, regional chapters, annual giving, and other advancement partners to align outreach and maximize engagement and philanthropic outcomes.
- Utilizing technology that includes Raisers Edge, Elon’s internal database to run queries and exports to identify alumni for engagement, and maintain excellent information within the internal database to improve alumni outreach.
- Assisting with Elon events including Senior Class Giving, Homecoming, reunions, Family Weekend, Evenings for Elon, Cheers to Elon, Elon Day, Alumni Awards Weekend, Commencement, chapter activities, athletic events, etc.
