Position Summary

Elon University School of Law welcomes applications for an entry-level or lateral tenure-track faculty position to teach Constitutional Law, Professional Responsibility, and related courses. Based in our Charlotte, North Carolina location, the position will start in summer 2026.

Elon Law is recognized for innovation in legal education through a highly experiential, full-time 2.5-year curriculum that has led to increases in applications, selectivity, bar passage rates, post-graduate placement and diversity. We seek a colleague who is eager to contribute to our mission: blending strong classroom instruction with experiential learning to fully equip a vibrant generation of practice-ready law graduates, while pursuing forward-looking scholarship and embracing excellence in teaching, mentoring, service and scholarship. Required qualifications include a J.D. or equivalent law degree, outstanding academic credentials, substantive practice experience, and admission with good standing to practice.

Minimum Required Education and Experience

A Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree or its equivalent, strong academic credentials, substantial legal practice experiences.

Preferred Education and Experience

Strong potential for teaching and scholarly excellence.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

In-depth legal knowledge, strong teaching and communication skills, and the ability to conduct and disseminate scholarly research. They should also possess strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities, as well as a commitment to mentorship and student success

Required Other Training, Certifications, or Licensing

Bar admission and in good standing. Prior successful teaching experience and a record of scholarly publications.
