Snowshoe Hare Research Technician in various locations
The Department of Biology at the University of North Dakota (UND) is looking for 1-2 field technicians to assist with field efforts on a snowshoe hare research project in northeastern Vermont from late September 2026 through early May 2027. There will be occasional camera trap (CT) fieldwork in northern New Hampshire that will occur during the fall and late spring. The field season will begin with live-trapping and radio-collaring of snowshoe hares from late-September – mid-October, followed by CT and acoustic recording unit (ARU) checks through mid-November, and weekly telemetry checks and location acquisition (~2 days/week) from mid-November through early May. Additionally, the technician will be working with VFWD and USFWS to conduct spruce and ruffed grouse fecal pellet surveys during the month of April to index abundance.
