Summary:  The Dept. of Chemistry and Biochemistry invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position, Assistant Professor, interest in teaching and research expertise in all areas of theoretical, computational, or data-driven chemistry and biochemistry.

Classification Summary:
The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant Professor (Position 199290) level beginning August 2025. Our department has strong doctoral and undergraduate programs and promotes research, development, and education in all areas of chemistry and biochemistry. Applicants with teaching interests and research expertise in all areas of theoretical, computational, or data-driven chemistry and biochemistry, including related fields such as applied bioinformatics, are encouraged to apply. Classification Standard Duties:
The ideal applicant is expected to conduct innovative research that complements and expands existing expertise in the department and to establish an outstanding, externally funded research program

Required Education, Experience, Certification/License, Equivalency
A doctorate in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related scientific field, postdoctoral training or its equivalent, and a publication record commensurate with appointment to a Ph.D. program are required. The applicant is expected to develop an independent, extramurally funded research program.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Collaboration across broad areas of scientific study and participation in multi-investigator grant funding are encouraged. Candidates are expected to have a strong record of research accomplishments in their area and teaching assignments will be determined based on the successful candidate’s area of expertise. Applicants with teaching interests and research expertise in all areas of theoretical, computational, or data-driven chemistry and biochemistry, including related fields such as applied bioinformatics, are encouraged to apply.
