Summary:  The Department of Mathematical Sciences invites applicants for a college-track faculty appointment to be filled at the Assistant Professor level beginning August 2025. The appointment is for 12 months but may be renewable.

The Department of Mathematical Sciences at New Mexico State University invites applicants for a visiting college-track faculty appointment to be filled at the Assistant Professor level beginning August 2025. The appointment is for 12 months, including the following summer, and may be renewable.

Classification Standard Duties:
The position will support the teaching needs of the department; there is no research component. Individuals interested in contributing to a diverse academic community are particularly encouraged. Expected duties include teaching 2 in-person courses and 2-online asynchronous 8-week courses in each of the fall and spring semester, and 2 online asynchronous 8-week courses in the summer.

Required Education, Experience, Certification/License, Equivalency
Candidates must have a Master’s in Mathematics or Statistics prior to August 2025 and a demonstrated record of excellence in teaching preparatory and undergraduate math and/or statistics courses.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Candidates with a Ph.D. in Mathematics prior to August 2025, excellent communication skills, a sustained demonstrated excellence in teaching at the preparatory level, and experience teaching in an online environment to adult learners are preferred.
