Classification Summary:
The Associate Dean of the Conroy Honors College assists in the development, administration, management of all academic programs, and promotion of the college and its programs.
Classification Standard Duties:
Assist the Dean with the administration and evaluation of all college programs. Promote academic achievement and student satisfaction consistent with established education objectives, quality standards, and fiscal responsibility. Guide, advice, and support Honors students through the academic Honors program through assisting in the recruitment of students to the Honors program and NMSU, administration of College scholarship programs, mentorship of students, mentorship of Honors faculty, curriculum development and administration, partnering with NMSU departments and colleges, and assessment of courses. Supervise and evaluate assigned personnel. Responsible for assisting in the development and administration of budgets in the area of supervision. Serve as a liaison between the school and university community, community agencies, businesses and other groups, advisory committees, state and national groups, and all relevant Academic Dean committees or programs. Work with the Foundation and Alumni Relations as deemed appropriate. Ensure compliance with regulatory, corporate, and Department of Education regulations. Reports directly to the Dean.

Required Education: Earned terminal degree in a directly related discipline and tenured or tenurable at the rank of professor Experience: Experience with NMSU course scheduling and scholarship systems. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
KNOWLEDGE: Knowledge and understanding of principles, procedures, regulations, and standards applicable to the job; Understanding of the Honors College programs, goals, vision, courses, and how it operates within the NMSU system; Understanding of the University’s mission, vision, and goals. SKILLS: Short- and long-term planning skills; problem analysis and resolution; report preparation and presentation; and interpersonal and organizational communication skills, both oral and written. ABILITIES: Develop and maintain effective working relationships; maintain accurate and orderly records; use independent judgment and initiative; organize and direct activities.
