Summary:  Join the PSL Telemetry Missile Systems Team as an Inventory Control Clerk!

Classification Summary:
Compiles records from ordering, shipping, and receiving materials. Updates information on computer to maintain inventory records. Assesses stock supply and reorder status. Prepares and verifies requisition of additional stock items, using the appropriate forms.

Classification Standard Duties:
Requisitions equipment, materials and/or supplies for incoming orders according to established policy and procedures; determines what can be purchased and what needs to be requisitioned; prepares purchase requisitions for approval; monitors and reviews inventory levels by physical count, record keeping and/or visual inspection to identify need for purchasing materials, equipment or supplies; inspects and verifies deliveries and reconciles invoice against purchase orders checking cost, amount delivered, amount ordered; authorizes payment and initiates paperwork to close out purchase orders; issues or distributes materials, supplies, equipment to staff from stock; divides or cuts stock to size for filling orders; reviews authorization and applies proper charge codes; answers questions concerning purchase requisitions and purchases from the purchasing department, department staff or vendors; contacts vendors to obtain price or other information, follow up on delivery dates, late deliveries, shortages or overages; ensures action is taken to correct problem; maintains requisitions or orders manually or in automated system to track status of purchases and compile reports; maintains records of prices, quality, quantity and delivery dates; maintains a variety of records, such as inventory costs, retail prices, quality, quantity on hand or damaged stock; provides regular reports for supervisor; stores materials, supplies or equipment according to weight, temperature, size, safety or other requirements; marks stock items and/or shelves or bins with identifying codes, letters or figures; moves or transports items in stock to other areas using hand truck or other materials handling equipment; trains new workers in area operations.

Required Education, Experience, Certification/License, Equivalency
Required Education:High School diploma or GED certificate.; Required Experience:Three (3) years of experience related to the standard duties as outlined.; Equivalency:Any equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience as approved by Human Resource Services.; Required Certification/License:

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
KNOWLEDGE:Knowledge of clerical, purchasing activities. Knowledge of inventory or store keeping principles and practices.; SKILLS:Skills in inventory control, supplies, and purchasing; interpersonal and organizational communication, both oral and written.; ABILITIES:Ability to effectively communicate.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
Ensures that all materials, supplies, and equipment received are processed, transacted in the system, and distributed in a timely manner. Inspects shipments in conjunction with the quality department as required and records damages or defects; notifies supervisor and/or purchasing personnel of the same. Operates all inventory maintenance equipment including scanner, printers, and terminals. Receives incoming materials, supplies, and equipment and compares information on packing slip with purchase order to verify the accuracy of shipment. Prepares purchasing and accounting paperwork such as small purchase orders and requisitions; reconciles invoices with purchase orders in preparation for payment processing. Makes parts kits as needed by the Production Department utilizing the computer system and shop orders.
Corresponds with suppliers for quotations; maintains contact with vendors regarding the current status of purchase orders. Moves materials, supplies, and equipment from receiving locations to job sites by carrying, pushing, rolling, or using hand trucks. Maintains inventory databases with an accuracy of 95%+. Performs cycle counts in the stockroom. Maintains high levels of organization in the stockroom using %s methodology. Uncrates and/or assembles equipment. Assist in implementing and utilizing Global Shop. Until implementation is complete will assist various departments in moving data to GS from AIM. Will pull reports and data from both systems for comparison and analysis.
TM Product Liaison between QA, Inventory and TM Technical Staff. Coordinates test schedule, prepares and organizes production documentation. Assist in coordinating migration into new production software system. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
