Summary:  The Department of Mathematical Sciences at New Mexico State University invites applications for the position of college-track Assistant Professor. The selected candidate will be responsible for supporting the teaching needs of the department.

Classification Summary:
The Department of Mathematical Sciences at New Mexico State University invites applicants for a college-track faculty appointment to be filled at the Assistant Professor level beginning August 2026. Candidates must submit basic application materials, including a cover letter, curriculum vitae, teaching statement and unofficial transcripts. Classification Standard Duties:
The position will support the teaching needs of the department; there is no research component. Individuals interested in contributing to a diverse academic community are particularly encouraged. Expected duties include teaching 4 courses per semester.

Required Education, Experience, Certification/License, Equivalency
Candidates must have a Master’s in Mathematics prior to August 2026 and a demonstrated record of excellence in teaching preparatory and undergraduate math and/or statistics courses.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Candidates with a Ph.D. in Mathematics prior to August 2026, excellent communication skills, a sustained demonstrated excellence in teaching at the preparatory level are preferred.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
Expected duties include teaching four courses per semester. Service to the Department and the University.
