Job Duties and Responsibilities: The Deputy AD Internal Ops Senior Woman Admin serves as a senior executive leader within the Athletics Department and reports directly to the Director of Athletics. This position provides strategic oversight and leadership for internal operations, including sport administration, Title IX, compliance, risk management, and human resources. As the designated SWA, the Deputy AD advocates for gender equity, diversity, and student-athlete well-being while ensuring compliance with institutional, conference, and NCAA policies.
The role serves as a primary liaison between the Athletics Department and key campus partners, including Campus Police, Student Conduct, and other institutional offices, to ensure a safe, compliant, and well-managed athletics environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Executive Leadership & Internal Operations
• Provide executive oversight of internal operations within the Athletics Department, ensuring efficient, compliant, and effective administrative practices.
• Serve as a senior advisor to the Director of Athletics on departmental operations, policy development, and strategic initiatives.
• Assist in long-range planning and operational assessment to support departmental goals.
Sport Administration
• Provide leadership and oversight of the Sport Administration program, including supervision of sport administrators and assigned athletic programs.
• Serve as a primary liaison to coaching staffs, ensuring accountability, compliance, and alignment with institutional values.
• Evaluate athletic programs and coaching staffs in collaboration with the Director of Athletics.
Senior Woman Administrator (SWA) Responsibilities
• Serve as the designated Senior Woman Administrator, advocating for gender equity, diversity, and inclusion within the Athletics Department.
• Provide leadership on women’s sports issues and NCAA gender equity initiatives.
• Represent the Athletics Department on institutional, conference, and NCAA committees as assigned.
Title IX Oversight
• Provide Athletics oversight related to Title IX compliance, in collaboration with the institutional Title IX Coordinator.
• Assist with education, policy implementation, and response coordination related to Title IX matters involving Athletics.
• Promote a culture of respect, safety, and accountability.
Compliance
• Oversee the Athletics compliance program, ensuring adherence to NCAA, conference, and institutional rules and regulations.
• Supervise compliance staff and processes related to rules education, monitoring, reporting, and investigations.
• Serve as a key resource for coaches and staff on compliance interpretation and best practices.
Risk Management & Safety
• Oversee departmental risk management initiatives, including emergency action plans, safety protocols, team travel policies, and incident response.
• Serve as the primary Athletics liaison to Campus Police (PD) and emergency management personnel.
• Coordinate Athletics responses to critical incidents and safety concerns.
Human Resources Oversight
• Provide administrative oversight of Athletics Human Resources, including staff recruitment, hiring, onboarding, evaluations, and employee relations.
• Ensure Athletics HR practices align with institutional policies, employment laws, and equity standards.
• Support professional development and a positive workplace culture.
Campus Partnerships & Student Conduct
• Serve as the Athletics Department liaison to Student Conduct, Campus Police, and other campus partners on matters involving student-athletes and Athletics personnel.
• Coordinate communication and response related to conduct issues, investigations, and disciplinary processes.
• Support education and preventative programming related to conduct, ethics, and community standards.
Strategic Leadership & Representation
• Represent the Athletics Department on institutional committees and task forces as assigned.
• Assist the Director of Athletics with departmental communications, policy development, and leadership initiatives.
• Support diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts across all Athletics programs.
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience:
