Job Duties and Responsibilities: Under the supervision of the Associate Vice President of Human Resources/CHROThe Director of The Office of Institutional Equity serves as the Title IX Coordinator and ADA/504 Coordinator for employees for the University System while also providing oversight and leadership to the Office of Institutional Equity. The Director provides direct counsel to University administration on all matters regarding legal requirements falling under NMSU policy and federal law including Title IX, Title VI, the Americans with Disabilities Act, Title VII, the ADEA, PDA, ERISA, PWFA and other extant and relative statutes. The Director supervises all inquiries and investigations related to allegations of sexual misconduct and other forms of prohibited discrimination from report to investigation to resolution. The Director interfaces with other units on rights and responsibilities related to allegations of discrimination, religious accommodations, allegations of retaliation, training needs for proactive approaches and remediation, and sanctions for violations of policy falling within OIE's jurisdiction. The Director, in collaboration with the Center for Learning & Professional Development (CLPD) identifies, develops, prepares, and executes training plans and outreach for both students and employees based on data analyzation related to discrimination and sexual misconduct reports. The position requires performance of highly responsible and complex professional duties, and design, development and management of specialized programs for NMSU’s Title IX programs. The Director works and collaborates closely with the Director of Employee Relations and Engagement to ensure synergies and alignment as it relates to the administration of extant university policy.

 

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience: 
Associate's Degree + 10 years of relevant experience.

Equivalent Qualifications: 
Bachelor's degree + 8 years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications: 
Master's degree or higher preferred.

Special Certification/Licensure: 
Title IX Administrator Certification
