Job Duties and Responsibilities: Responsibilities

Reporting to the Assistant Athletic Director of Equipment Operations, this position manages and oversees the day‑to‑day operations of Olympic sport equipment for NCAA Division I programs while ensuring compliance with University, safety, and NCAA standards through established procedures and regular audits. This role provides comprehensive operational support to sport programs by coordinating closely with the apparel provider, preparing and maintaining team gear, and managing all logistical needs during practices, competitions, and travel. Responsibilities include issuing, laundering, and disseminating apparel; packing and organizing team equipment; and ensuring athletes are properly outfitted and equipped for training and competition.
Inventory & Compliance Management
Manages inventory for NCAA Division I Olympic sport programs, including procurement planning, audit execution, and accurate record maintenance. Maintains procedures to ensure compliance, accuracy, and efficient gear disbursement, including coordination with the apparel provider. Ensures the maintenance of up‑to‑date inventory levels to support each sport’s operational and competitive needs.

Team Operations Support
Provides direct support to assigned teams during practices and competitions, including packing, laundering, equipment management, equipment upkeep, and gear distribution. Oversees logistics to ensure all student‑athletes are properly equipped for training and competition. Coordinates laundry service and all equipment‑related needs for away contests, as needed. Issues, launders, and disseminates game, practice, and workout apparel and uniforms.

Facility, Maintenance & Safety Oversight
Promotes a culture of safety and maintenance while overseeing facility cleanliness, storage organization, and overall equipment upkeep. Ensures laundry systems, storage areas, and equipment spaces are clean, safe, and fully operational. Manages chemical inventory, coordinates machine maintenance, and maintains compliance with University, NCAA, and safety regulations.

Supervision & Staff Development
This position reports Supervises student managers including hiring, training, task assignment, and performance guidance. Educates staff on policies and procedures related to issuing and maintaining apparel and equipment, and promotes a safe, efficient, organized, and service‑focused work environment. Coordinates and logs student worker and intern hours according to institutional policy.

Administrative & Service Excellence
Works with the business office to ensure proper and timely payment of invoices. Collaborates with coaches and directors of operations for assigned sports to ensure equipment and apparel needs are met. Provides a world‑class experience and high‑level service to all student‑athletes in support of their success.

Required Education and Experience: 
Required Education:High School diploma or GED; Required Experience:Five (5) years of experience directly related to the standard duties as outlined.; Equivalency:Completion of a post-secondary degree or certificate may substitute for years of experience.; Required Certification/License:

Working Conditions and Physical Effort

Environment: Work involves moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises.

Physical Effort: Considerable physical activity. Physical work is a primary part (more than 70%) of the job.

Lifting Requirements: Requires heavy physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects up to 50 pounds.
