Advertising Summary: KRWG Public Media, a joint licensee at New Mexico State University in Las Cruces, NM, has an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and driven MMJ. This position works with our Content Director to pitch, shoot, write, edit and report short-form and long-form stories relevant to viewers and listeners in our coverage area, including El Paso, TX. The successful candidate will supplement our TV and FM distribution with a firm understanding of digital and social media's importance in reaching our audience. Producer/anchor experience is a plus.

Job Duties and Responsibilities: The KRWG Multimedia reporter is responsible for developing story ideas and conducting research. This is followed by shooting video to produce stories in the field. The reporter conducts additional research, writes the stories and develops a multimedia presentation for the KRWG website and social media channels. Prepares report audio for radio distribution. Produces radio and television programs as assigned and serves as a producer/anchor. Conducts student training and participates in pledge drives and community events as assigned.

 

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience: 
Bachelor's degree + 2 years of relevant experience

Equivalent Qualifications: 
Associate's Degree + 4 years of relevant experience

Preferred Qualifications: 
Link to online reel demonstrating relevant work experience

Special Certification/Licensure: 

 

Working Conditions and Physical Effort

Environment: Work is normally performed indoors.

Physical Effort: Light physical effort. Effort applies to no more than two (2) hours per day.

Lifting Requirements: Requires handling of average-weight objects up to 10 pounds or some standing or walking.

Risk: Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions.
