Appointment Full-time Equivalency: 1.0

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Bargaining Unit Announcement: This is a bargaining unit position with American Federation of State, County & Municipal Employees (AFSCME).

Contingent Upon Funding: Contingent upon external funding

Standard Work Schedule: Standard (M-F, 8-5)

If Not a Standard Work Schedule: Some after hours and/or Saturdays may be required for recruiting events.

Job Duties and Responsibilities: Planning, organizing, scheduling and conducting lessons and activities for young children. Supervise indoor and outdoor activities of children; Oversight and assist with feeding children; may make referral reports; attends staff meetings, in-service training sessions and other work related functions as necessary; May guide children in eating, resting and toileting; may be responsible for the care of toddlers; assists in keeping areas tidy; maintains discipline and guidance; Keeping records; conducts teacher/parent conferences; Administers pre and post assessments; Address student/parent concerns; Records behavior; Monitors records; Records related information in GoEngage; Is mentor teacher and first point of contact for coverage in classrooms; Hold weekly center based meetings; Performs related work as assigned. other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience: 
High School diploma + 3 years of relevant experience or an Associate's Degree + 1 year of relevant experience.

Equivalent Qualifications: 

Preferred Qualifications: 
Several years experience with Early childhood

Special Certification/Licensure: 

Working Conditions and Physical Effort

Environment: Work is normally performed indoors.

Physical Effort: Light physical effort. Effort applies to no more than two (2) hours per day.

Lifting Requirements: Requires handling of average-weight objects up to 25 pounds or standing and/or walking for more than four (4) hours per day.

Risk: No or very limited exposure to physical risk.
