Bargaining Unit Announcement: This is a bargaining unit position with American Federation of State, County & Municipal Employees (AFSCME).

Contingent Upon Funding: Contingent upon external funding

Standard Work Schedule: Standard (M-F, 8-5)

If Not a Standard Work Schedule: 

Job Duties and Responsibilities: Maintains buildings and property in a clean, safe, and orderly condition. Performs routine cleaning duties to ensure a sanitary environment. Follows established procedures for the safe and proper use of chemical cleaners and powered cleaning equipment to prevent damage to floors, fixtures, and furnishings. Cleans and polishes furniture and fixtures, and performs general housekeeping tasks, including cleaning and sanitizing restrooms, mopping floors, vacuuming carpets, dusting, and washing windows.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience: 
High School diploma or higher degree.

Special Certification/Licensure: 
Must be a U.S. Citizen.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort

Environment: Work involves moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises.

Physical Effort: Moderate physical activity.

Lifting Requirements: Requires heavy physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects up to 50 pounds.
