Job Duties and Responsibilities: The Assistant Athletic Director, Equipment Operations and Apparel serves as the Athletics Department’s primary equipment and apparel leader for the football program while providing department-wide oversight of apparel operations supporting all collegiate athletics programs. The position is responsible for the day-to-day management of football equipment operations.
The position provides direct supervision to the Assistant Equipment Manager and oversight to student equipment managers and other student employees. The Assistant Athletic Director works closely with the Head Football Coach, coaching staff, and other support areas to ensure the football program is properly equipped and supported for practices, competitions, recruiting activities, camps, and travel.
The Assistant Athletic Director serves as a primary liaison with the department’s apparel provider and equipment vendors and oversees apparel operations across all collegiate athletics programs. Responsibilities include apparel sourcing and purchasing, inventory management, distribution, vendor relations, contract benefits, staff and student-athlete apparel needs, and ensuring timely and appropriate service to coaches, staff, and student-athletes.
The position also assists with budget planning, contract management, licensing compliance, and the development and implementation of operational procedures. The Assistant Athletic Director provides hands-on oversight of football equipment operations, including equipment fitting, distribution, maintenance, storage, security, locker room and equipment room organization, laundry operations, and transportation of equipment and apparel to home and away competitions, camps, and other off-site activities.
The Assistant Athletic Director is responsible for ensuring equipment and apparel operations are conducted safely, efficiently, and in accordance with university, conference, NCAA, and applicable vendor requirements.
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience:
Associate's Degree + 4 years of relevant experience or a Bachelor's degree + 2 years of relevant experience.
