Pay Range: Targeted salary $17.50 per hour, based on experience

Benefits Eligible: Yes

Work Schedule: Overnights 8:00 pm - 6:00 am (four 10-hour shifts) Must be able to work overnights, weekends, and holidays with the possibility of mandated overtime events.

Travel: Not required

Position Introduction:

We are seeking a dedicated and service-oriented Security Officer (Unarmed) to help maintain a safe and secure environment. This position plays a vital role in campus safety by conducting patrols, monitoring security systems, responding to emergencies, and providing assistance to the public. The ideal candidate is a reliable professional with strong communication skills, attention to detail, the ability to remain calm and responsive in emergency situations and serves as a Campus Security Authority (CSA).   • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Must pass Post Offer Employment Test (POET): be able to lift 62 pounds, push a maximum of 120 pounds, and pull a maximum of 125 pounds.

Working Conditions:

  • Physical: Regular exposure to disagreeable conditions, including inclement weather, odors and loud noises. Regular sitting, standing, walking, and climbing stairs. Occasionally will bend, lift above shoulders and carry at least 62 pounds. Constantly using sight to include color, depth perception, and clarity.
  • Environmental: Willingness to wear and maintain uniforms. May perform shift work. Exposure to extreme weather conditions.

Required Education and Experience:

  • High School diploma or GED. 

Required Certifications and Licenses:

  • Valid Oklahoma Driver's License to drive University vehicles on campus or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire date.

Department Preferences:

  • Previous security experience.
  • CPR & first aid certifications.  
  • Excellent customer service. 
  • Bilingual.
