Position Introduction:

The Department of Molecular Genetics and Genome Sciences is seeking a Staff Research Assistant to join Dr. Jun Li's computational biology group. The selected candidate will support genomics research projects involving single-cell and spatial profiling technologies, including RNA-seq, ATAC-seq, multiome, and spatial transcriptomics platforms. In this position, you will contribute to project-wide data management, sample tracking, data governance, and computational analysis activities while working closely with both experimental and quantitative scientists. The successful candidate will become part of a collaborative data science team that combines bioinformatics, biostatistics, coding, and data-management expertise to advance biomedical research. Preferred candidates will have experience working with biological datasets using R, Python, SQL, or related computational tools, and an interest in modern genomics and computational biology.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Biology, Psychology, Engineering, Computer Science, Sociology, or a related discipline aligned with the specific area of research or project focus).
  • 1 year of experience supporting research or working in a laboratory setting.

Equivalency/Substitution: Experience or a combination of education & related experience can be considered in lieu of degree. A one-to-one ratio is used to determine the number of years of experience required in place of a degree.
