Position Introduction:
The role of the Athletics Shipping/Receiving Tech is to perform daily duties assigned by the director that are both scheduled and unscheduled. Responsibilities include but are not limited to managing the shipment and receipt of all athletics product and supplies, promptly unloading trucks and sort deliveries, maintain accurate daily delivery logs, ensure products are delivered to correct departmental staff, arrange and setup outbound shipping for athletics department, assistance with game day operations and event setup as required.
Additionally, the Shipping/Receiving Tech must demonstrate personal accountability, including (1) compliance with the compliance staff directives and (2) adherence to Athletics Department and University policies as well as NCAA and SEC rules and regulations.
Essential Functions:
Receiving and Distributing Departmental Deliveries
Manages the receipt, storage, issuance, and delivery of athletics materials, supplies, and equipment
Accepts and signs for athletics deliveries
Delivers supplies and/or materials using university vehicles, including moving and/or lifting of equipment
Events
Assist with event set-up and breakdow
Collaboration
Collaborates with facilities/maintenance staff to implement and maintain facility services and processes related to shipping and receiving
Material Procurement
Gather departmental quotes and ensure order fulfillment while also maintaining good working relationships with vendors and service providers
Assists supervisor with establishing a proper material inventory and filing system
Planning
Develops long and short-range maintenance plans/programs, delivering sorting procedures, delivery schedules, and mail routes for the purpose of ensuring that university resources are effectively used
Performs related duties as assigned to successfully fulfill the functions of the position.
