Position Introduction:

The Marketing and Communications Intern will support the Division of Marketing, Supply Chain Management, and Healthcare Business by managing and strengthening its digital presence. This role extends beyond daily social media posting and includes strategic communication, content planning, stakeholder outreach, performance analysis, documentation, and the continued development of sustainable marketing systems.

The intern will gain hands-on experience in marketing strategy, content creation, digital communications, analytics, project management, and professional relationship building while representing the Division and Price College of Business.

The strongest candidate does not need the longest resume or the most visible campus experience. Students who have not had many opportunities to stand in the spotlight will have a fair chance to show their work ethic and potential.

Required Education and Experience:

Must be currently enrolled in the Fall 2026 Term as an undergraduate student at the University of Oklahoma.

Skills:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills including the ability to communicate proactively
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the capacity to work independently to manage assignments, deadlines, and follow-ups
  • Friendly yet professional, detail oriented, strategic, creative, driven, hardworking, and internally motivated to succeed and learn
  • Comfortable meeting new people and able to build and maintain relationships quickly
  • Willing to accept feedback and be open to questions, revisions, and continued learning
  • Interest in marketing strategy, content development, analytics, and digital communications to help the Division grow
  • Able to represent the Division well in person and through their public online presence
  • Comfortable with basic technology and content-creation tools
  • Familiarity with LinkedIn and Canva is preferred, although a willingness to learn is essential
  • Able to track data, understand basic analytics, and use results to guide future work
  • Able to maintain a shared collaborative content calendar

Required Certifications and Licenses:

None

Department Preferences:

  • Current Price College of Business student majoring in Marketing
  • Currently classified as a junior or planning to graduate no earlier than May 2028
  • Able to commit to the position for approximately one and a half years
  • Available to begin training no later than October 15
  • Able to consistently prioritize approximately eight focused hours each week
  • Access to a personal laptop
