Picks up and delivers United States Postal Service (USPS) and interdepartmental mail. · Picks up USPS mail by utilizing a state owned motor vehicle. · Delivers mail to various destinations. May make special mail runs as directed by the supervisor. · Assists in preparation of special mailings. · Sorts and meters incoming and outgoing mail by route and location. Separates outgoing mail by account number for postage. · Maintains state owned motor vehicle, to include but not limited to inspecting the vehicle for engine oil, and brake pressure. The Grants and Contracts Lead Accounting Specialist is a key position within the department, responsible for identifying and preparing deposits for more than $200 million in grant and contract funds annually. This role establishes new accounts, researches and corrects budget errors, and ensures the accuracy and integrity of financial records. Through close coordination with departmental and central offices, the position supports effective financial management, compliance, and the successful administration of sponsored projects. Some duties include: preparing the daily deposit for all sponsored funding to include the logging and entry into PeopleSoft; investigating the account identification for deposits with no recognizable deposit information; providing administrative assistance to the office by answering telephone calls, maintaining office supplies, completing banking, vendor and single audit forms: monitors the Grants and Contracts Accounting email inbox, executes departmental compliance queries and assists with the department records retention processes.
