Job Summary
Under the direction of the Director of Graduate Programs for the Manning College of Information and Computer Sciences (CICS), and working closely with graduate program personnel, the Graduate Recruitment Specialist will be responsible for managing qualified leads for the CICS graduate programs. The position will be responsible for monitoring and analyzing Customer Relationship Management (CRM) System data, qualifying leads, and recommending appropriate allocation of marketing resources to follow-up with prospective graduate students.
Essential Functions
Monitors and analyzes data from the CRM System used by CICS to track qualified leads from prospect to applicant to matriculated student.
Collects and analyzes data to identify key leads and recommends effective communication strategies/marketing resource allocations.
Actively pursues qualified leads and addresses general inquiries from prospective students via one-on-one correspondence.
Converts qualified leads into promising applications by advising prospective students with appropriate and accurate information regarding program options and admissions.
Collaborate with the CICS Marcom team to identify project needs, requirements, and assist in developing comprehensive project plans, schedules, and timelines to ensure successful execution.
Monitor project progress and support efforts to ensure high-quality deliverables are completed on time.
Collaborate with the Director of Graduate Programs to provide strategic input to the Marketing & Communications Team on messaging and content development for recruitment campaigns.
Contribute to the creation of clear, compelling, and goal-aligned recruitment marketing materials.Takes part in decision-making processes pertaining to the CRM System.
Continuously explores new and innovative ways to utilize the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tool to improve prospective student services and communications including collaborating with Salesforce personnel in the UMass IT and Marcom offices.
Contributes to the overall success of CICS graduate programs by providing solutions to team coordination such as communication plans, assistance with scheduling, and promotion of recruiting events.
Participates in recruitment activities, emphasizing program benefits and success outcomes to prospective students.
Gathers marketing materials and attends on-campus career fairs and virtual information sessions for prospective students.
Attend regional and national recruiting events as needed.
Other Functions
Performs related duties as assigned or required to meet department, executive area/division, and university goals and objectives.
Understands responsibilities with respect to Title IX, Clery and other compliance requirements.
Demonstrates capacity, skill and willingness to engage students and contribute to student success.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree and at least three (3) years of professional experience working in academic programs, advising, recruitment, or a related field.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively and create and maintain harmonious relationships with a diverse population of staff, faculty, students and off-campus constituents. Ability and willingness to work empathetically with a diverse student population and contribute to their success.
Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to write concisely, express thoughts clearly and develop ideas in a logical sequence.
Independent initiative. Must have the ability to stay on task and work productively with a minimum amount of supervision or guidance.
Willingness to take on a variety of tasks related to the successful operation of academic programs. The ability to adapt and work effectively as the College and graduate programs team grows.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to complete assignments in a timely manner, balancing the demands of concurrent and potentially competing projects.
Ability to exercise sound judgment and maintain confidentiality. The ability to think through problems, organize and seek out data/information, identify key factors and underlying causes, and generate solutions.
Ability to effectively influence stakeholders at various levels including potential students, faculty, and administration.
Ability to use computer-based registration and academic records software such as Spire, Slate, and.
Strong computer skills including at least intermediate expertise with:
Email.
Calendar systems such as Outlook or Google.
Word processing software such as Microsoft Word or Google Docs.
Spreadsheets such as Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets.
Databases such as Microsoft Access or FileMaker.
Virtual meeting platforms such as Zoom and Microsoft Teams.
Working Conditions
Work is performed in a standard office or indoor university environment and involves minimal physical exertion.
Work Schedule and Work Arrangement
Monday - Friday within standard working hours.
This position has the opportunity for a hybrid work schedule, which is defined by the University as an arrangement where an employee’s work is regularly performed at a location other than the campus workspace for a portion of the week. As this position falls within the Professional Staff Union, it is subject to the terms and conditions of the Professional Staff Union collective bargaining agreement.
Salary Information
Pay Grade: PSSAP Grade 25
