The Project
CIMIC Group companies Pacific Partnerships, CPB Contractors and UGL, along with JV Partner John Holland, and as part of the Canberra Metro consortium, will finance, design, build and operate the next stage of Canberra’s world class light rail system, Stage 2A from the City to Commonwealth Park.
The Stage 2A “catenary free” or wireless extension will be delivered under Canberra Metro’s existing public private partnership (PPP) with the ACT Government.
Your Opportunity
Join CPB Contractors on one of Canberra’s most significant transport infrastructure projects. As a Civil Project Engineer, you’ll play a key role in site execution, technical coordination, and quality delivery. This is a strong career-building opportunity to gain hands-on experience in sustainable, city-shaping rail infrastructure.
- Assist in daily planning and execution of site activities to meet project scope and schedule
- Interpret construction drawings and specifications, providing clear technical guidance to field teams
- Track on-site progress, maintain accurate records, and support weekly reporting and cost monitoring
- Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and consultants to ensure timely, quality delivery
- Uphold CPB’s safety, environmental, and quality standards in all aspects of on-site operations
Requirements for this role are:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural, or Construction Engineering (or equivalent)
- Site-based experience on major infrastructure or civil projects
- Solid understanding of construction methodologies, safety standards, and project documentation
