CPB Contractors is part of the ACS Group, the world’s leading data centre builder, with more than 9GW delivered globally across the US, Europe and Asia Pacific.
Together with our global peers, Leighton Asia and Turner, we deliver mission critical facilities for major technology clients, supporting the infrastructure backbone of the AI economy.
Your opportunity
We are seeking a Health and Safety Manager to support the successful delivery of a major data centre project, driving the next wave of digital and AI-enabled growth. We are seeking experienced professionals with a track record of delivering data centre projects and an understanding of the complexities of hyperscale and enterprise-grade environments. This is a career-defining opportunity to contribute to a complex, high-value project and play a key role in its successful delivery through construction, commissioning and handover.
This is a chance to influence how safety is delivered across one of Australia's leading construction businesses. Working closely with operational leaders and project teams, you'll help turn strategy into action, building capability, improving systems, and making safety practical, visible and effective across the business.
We're looking for someone who can challenge the status quo, have honest conversations, and work alongside teams to solve problems before they become issues. Someone who can see the bigger picture, but isn't afraid to roll up their sleeves when needed.
Key responsibilities include:
- Partnering with leaders and project teams to strengthen safety performance across the business
- Leading initiatives that improve the way safety is understood, applied and embedded into everyday work
- Providing trusted advice and support on safety systems, governance and risk management
- Identifying opportunities to simplify processes and improve how safety is managed on projects
- Leading investigations into significant incidents and helping teams identify practical, long-term solutions
- Using insights, trends and data to drive better decision-making and continuous improvement
- Supporting the rollout of new systems, processes and training to build capability across the business
What You'll Bring
- Experience in a senior safety, risk or SHEQ role within a complex operational environment, ideally gained through direct project delivery on major construction projects.
- Strong investigation skills and experience leading ICAM investigations
- The ability to influence, coach and build credibility with people at all levels of a business
- Experience improving systems, processes and ways of working, not just maintaining them
- A practical approach to problem-solving and the confidence to challenge when needed
- Strong communication skills and the ability to turn complex issues into clear, actionable outcomes
We particularly welcome and encourage applications from Indigenous Peoples, women, the LGBTQIA+ community, mature workers, Veterans and Active Defence Reserve members, people with disabilities and people from different cultural backgrounds. CPB Contractors is proud to hold the Workplace Gender Equality Agency (WGEA) Citation - Employer of Choice for Gender Equality.
We’re always looking for ways to make CPB Contractors a more rewarding place to work and offer a unique set of benefits, including:
- A rewarding career where we support your development, training and promote from within.
- Opportunities across all construction sectors so that there is always an opportunity suitable for the next stage in your career.
- Competitive remuneration and excellent benefits including a health and wellbeing program, discount portal and company-funded salary continuance insurance.
- Flexible work arrangements and a culture that values diversity and innovation.
Please note: This role is being sourced through CPB Contractors directly and we will not accept applications via external recruitment agencies.
