Barmera Health Service is seeking multiple passionate and dedicated Direct Care Attendants to join our Residential Care team. About the Role
As a Direct Care Attendant (Residential), you will play a crucial role in ensuring the well-being of our residents. Your primary responsibility will be assisting with day-to-day care, ensuring residents feel valued, respected, and supported in their daily activities. You’ll work closely with a dedicated team to deliver high-quality care and contribute to maintaining a positive and nurturing environment within our Residential Care Home. Key responsibilities include:
- Observing and reporting on residents' general health and wellbeing.
- Assisting in the completion of routine documentation and risk assessments.
- Supporting residents with diversional therapy, ensuring engagement in individual or group activities.
- Providing compassionate and respectful care in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Essential Criteria
- Qualifications: Completed AQF Certificate III in a relevant field (such as Aged Care or Individual Support).
- Skills:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate discretion in sensitive situations.
- A team player who is willing to collaborate with colleagues and provide assistance where needed.
- Experience:
- Previous experience in a direct care role, ideally in aged care or working with frail or disabled persons.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office packages (e.g., Word, Excel) for documentation purposes.
- Proven ability to use initiative and judgment when performing day-to-day tasks.
