About the Role
As a Medical Scientist, you will play a key role in conducting lung function tests for patients referred to our laboratory, a major referral centre offering a comprehensive range of diagnostic tests. You will use advanced computer-based testing equipment to ensure accurate and reliable results, while actively engaging with patients to encourage maximal performance during tests. Your ability to apply scientific knowledge and attention to detail will be essential in maintaining the highest quality standards and ensuring compliance with national and international best practices.
In addition to your clinical responsibilities, you will contribute to research and development activities within the laboratory, helping to advance testing techniques and improve patient outcomes. About You
You are a detail-oriented and empathetic professional with a strong scientific background and a passion for delivering high-quality clinical services. To be successful in this role, you will have:

Qualifications: A Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Applied Science (Medical Laboratory Science) or equivalent qualification, with certification in respiratory function science highly desirable.

Skills: Strong analytical, organisational, and communication skills with the ability to stay calm under pressure and work collaboratively in a team environment.

Experience: Previous experience in a clinical or patient-focused laboratory, with physiological measurement experience, especially in lung function or respiratory physiology.

Knowledge: Solid understanding of respiratory physiology, quality assurance practices, and computer literacy including Microsoft Office; research and data analysis skills are a plus.
