Please note that as this position is multi-classed as either a RN/M1 or ENC/END, the classification will be determined by qualifications and experience.

Integrated Mental Health Inpatient Unit (Whyalla)
Whyalla Hospital is one of three SA regional hospitals that has an Integrated Mental Health Inpatient Unit (IMHIU). The IMHIU features six single bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms and a comfortably furnished dining and lounge area, making the environment as welcoming and home-like as possible. About the Role:
As a Registered Nurse within the Local Health Network Mental Health service, you will deliver comprehensive, evidence-based, recovery-focused care across community, acute, and rehabilitation settings. You will engage in individual and family therapies, group programs, health promotion, and community development initiatives, supporting the well-being of consumers and their families. This role offers opportunities for continuous professional development and career progression from novice to proficient practitioner, with accountability for nursing standards, delegated care, and making a meaningful impact on consumer outcomes.
As an Enrolled Nurse, you will provide essential support in the delivery of evidence-based, recovery-oriented mental health services. Working under the guidance of experienced clinicians, you will contribute to integrated care across community, acute, and rehabilitation settings. You will remain accountable for your actions and ensure high-quality care for consumers, while developing your skills and confidence in mental health nursing practice.
About You:
RN/M1
- Must be registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate.
- Be enrolled and/or willing to enrol in further postgraduate studies within Mental Health practice.
- Demonstrated competence in the relevant area of nursing practice in accordance with the appropriate standards of practice.
- Experience working with Aboriginal consumers.
ENC/END
- Must be enrolled or eligible for enrolment as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate
- Experience, within the boundaries of education and skill preparation, in the provision of nursing care in the mental healthcare setting in accordance with the appropriate standards of practice.
- Experience working with Aboriginal consumers.
