Join our multidisciplinary healthcare team as a Social Worker at the Margaret Tobin Centre, where you'll provide essential psychosocial support and intervention services to patients and families during their most challenging moments!

About the role: 

Reporting to the Margaret Tobin Centre Nurse Unit Manager, Duties for the role will include:

• Responsible for the delivery of a range of clinical activities, including mental health and psychosocial assessments, risk assessments, treatment and care planning, therapeutic interventions, advocacy and liaison with other community service providers.
• Responsible to the allocated Consultant Psychiatrist or delegate for implementing the Treatment and Care Plan developed by the multidisciplinary team and the consumer. 
• Engaging and liaising with external organisations on social work issues to ensure appropriate patient care is delivered across the continuum of care,
• Providing leadership, consultancy and advice to management and other health professionals on social work services

About you:

• Appropriate degree or equivalent qualification which gives eligibility for full membership of the Australian association of Social Workers, 
• Advanced skills in undertaking a comprehensive bio-psychosocial assessment including risk assessments of consumers presenting with high or complex needs, 
• Clinical skills appropriate to the area of individual counselling, group work, family therapy, and focused psychosocial strategies, 
• Extensive experience working with patients and families as a social worker in a specialty area within the acute/sub acute/mental health care setting
