The Student Accounts Manager supports and manages all aspects of the student accounts for the Caruso School of Law and the School of Public Policy. As such, the Manager is responsible for providing exemplary customer service and for overseeing the critical business processes of billing, maintaining the tuition rate table, living expense refunds, 3rd party billing, past-due accounts, and collections.

Duties

  • Manage student account data for Law and SPP students. The population encompasses five different degree programs, three academic calendars, and approximately 1100 students.
  • Manage the student refunds throughout the year.
  • Manage the collection process for past-due accounts. Establish and maintain promissory notes. 
  • Manage the tuition rate table for five different degree programs.
  • Establish billing accounts for accounts paid by third parties. Invoice and bill third parties.
  • Counsel students one-on-one to advise and answer questions about tuition charges, payment arrangements, and policies.
  • Develop communication campaigns to assist students in understanding all aspects of billing, charges, and payment options.
  • Serve as a liaison and represent Law and SPP and its students at University Student Financial's meetings.
  • Perform other duties as requested.
  • Uphold University mission through work performed.

Skills and Qualifications

Required: Bachelor’s degree; data entry, Microsoft, and Excel; two years of general office experience, including customer service.

Preferred: Two years of general office experience, including customer service experience, in higher education; one year experience in finance and/or student services in a higher education.

This is a Regular, Nonexempt, 40 hour per week position.

Expected Pay Range: $25.52 - $28.36 per hour 

The above pay range reflects what Pepperdine University reasonably expects to pay for this position at time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on relevant factors such as work experience, market conditions, education/training, and skill level.
