Pepperdine University is seeking a dedicated, musical, and enthusiastic individual to join our Hub for Spiritual Life as a Specialist for Worship and Ministry. This position offers an exciting opportunity to engage with students, staff, and faculty in fostering a vibrant spiritual community on campus.

Duties

  • Worship and Ministry Support - Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of various campus ministry programs and events. Assist in coordinating, performing, and executing events with the Worship Ministry. Integrating discipleship into the fabric of Worship by creating opportunities for spiritual formation, including staff-led mentorship pairings, and guided small groups.
  • Student Engagement - Develop and maintain meaningful relationships with students, offering spiritual guidance, support, and mentorship. Assisting in areas such as Discipleship Cohort, Bible Study Groups, and Overflow groups.
  • Worship Services - Participate in the organization and facilitation of worship services, including leading prayers, readings, and music.
  • Community Building - Foster a welcoming and inclusive spiritual community by organizing and supporting small groups, Bible studies, and fellowship activities.
  • Administrative Tasks - Perform general administrative duties related to campus ministry, worship ministry, including event planning, communication, and resource management.
  • Outreach - Collaborate with other campus departments and external organizations to create opportunities for spiritual growth and service.
  • Support for Director of Ministry and Assistant Director of Worship - Assist the Director of Ministry in various projects and initiatives, providing support as needed. Assist the Assistant Director of Worship with administrative tasks such as strategic planning and finances.
  • Uphold University Policies and Procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Experience in administrative tasks related to worship events such as instrument and stage setup and breakdown, and event coordination.
  • Experience in mentorship and discipleship engagement.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Passion for ministry, worship, and a commitment to fostering spiritual growth in a diverse university setting.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic campus environment.

Preferred

  • Previous experience in worship and ministry, either through internships, cohort activities, volunteer work, or employment.
  • Knowledge of Google applications, Microsoft Word, and Adobe.

This is a Regular, Nonexempt, 40 hours hour per week position.

Expected Pay Range: $24.23 - $26.92 per hour 

The above pay range reflects what Pepperdine University reasonably expects to pay for this position at time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on relevant factors such as work experience, market conditions, education/training, and skill level. In addition to base pay, Pepperdine offers a robust and highly competitive benefits package.
