Kenyon College, a highly selective, nationally-ranked liberal arts college in central Ohio, invites applications for a tenure-track position in Studio Art at the rank of Assistant Professor beginning July 1, 2025. 

The Assistant Professor in 4D Media and New Genres will be a visual artist who critically engages with and integrates emerging technologies, and their professional practice demonstrates interdisciplinary expertise in digital media manipulation. Qualified candidates will have an in-depth knowledge of experimental video and emerging technologies and software, including Adobe CC, with advanced proficiency in both production and post-production workflows. Additional expertise may include interactive art, data-driven arts, AI imaging, computational art, and performance art.

A knowledge of contemporary issues in media arts and art history, and ability to communicate the relevance of art in all areas of society and within a liberal arts environment is an essential part of this position. Courses will offer challenging conceptual content that creates frameworks for a socially-engaged awareness in such fields of inquiry as globalization, sustainability, and complex and intersecting gender, racial, cultural, and political identities. Along with medium specific and thematic courses, the incumbent will also teach one section of the advanced multidisciplinary capstone sequence. 

Applicants must have an MFA in a Fine Art field, and demonstrate strong teaching skills, with teaching experience at the college level expected. The successful candidate will be a practicing artist with a regular exhibition record at the national level, and will be expected to engage in sustained scholarly research and/or other creative work appropriate to the position and participate in the full range of faculty responsibilities, including academic advising, institutional service, and departmental engagement.
