Position Summary

The Autzen Complex Laborer 2 position works in the Athletic Facilities unit at the Autzen Complex. They are primarily responsible for the oversight of the shipping and receiving operations for the Autzen Complex. In this capacity, they are accepting deliveries from many different entities, tracking arrivals, contacting recipients, delivering packages throughout the complex, and assisting athletic department employees in shipping packages and materials off-site.

They are also responsible for the custodial services predominantly in the Moshofsky Center. In this capacity, they are responsible for cleaning bathrooms, maintaining floor surfaces, including track surface, artificial turf, tile floors, vinyl floors, emptying trash, and cleaning areas before and after practices and events. They may be asked to assist with custodial tasks throughout the Autzen Complex.

This position performs facility and grounds maintenance tasks predominantly in the Moshofsky Center. In this capacity, they are responsible for cleaning walkways, collecting trash and debris, pressure washing concrete walkways and walls, maintaining the building façade, doors and windows, and performing basic maintenance in and around the facility. They will be asked to perform security tasks such as locking and unlocking buildings, gates, and storage containers. They may be asked to perform all of these tasks throughout the Autzen Complex.

Additionally, this position is responsible for various events and practice set-ups throughout the Autzen Complex. In this capacity, this position works as a Facilities event team member for practice, competition, and other activities taking place in/at Athletic Department properties, such as soccer, softball, baseball, lacrosse, football, etc., as well as special events that are sponsored by outside groups/agencies. This support effort involves routine labor tasks associated with pre-event, event, and post-event tasks specific to each event/activity.

Special Requirements:
This position will require a valid driver’s license and the ability to obtain and maintain a UO Driver's Certification, the ability to obtain UO Forklift Certification within 90 days of employment, and a willingness to work a flex./irregular work schedule, and as a member of the Essential Services Team.

Minimum Requirements

• 2 years of experience with general routine labor in an organization's work unit doing similar work.

• Computer skills: Need to be able to communicate via email, both sending and receiving.
• Ability to work and communicate effectively with faculty, staff, and students with a variety of diverse backgrounds
• Ability to effectively work in a team environment.
• Ability to learn and implement common safety practices.
• Ability to communicate effectively both in writing and orally.
• Ability to operate and respond to 2-way radio communication.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in shipping and receiving.
• At least 2 years of experience working in Custodial Services.
• At least 2 years of experience working in Facility and Grounds Maintenance.
• Experience operating a forklift and pallet jacks. Experience loading and unloading trucks.
• Experience setting up, working, and tearing down events.
