About the department / center:

The Egg, Student Life’s Student Creative Agency is a professionally advised student multimedia and design group and premier professional development and experiential learning program revolving around creativity. We work on projects for Student Life departments and in support of student groups.

The 12+ units and 25 functional areas comprising the Division of Student Life support all UD students as they develop personally, educationally, and professionally. Students find that the development we facilitate, and the communities we foster, fill the abundant space between the classroom and life to complete their University of Delaware experience.

Role Description:

The student videographer will develop creative marketing and communications knowledge with the education and practice of multimedia generation for Student Life. Professional camera equipment will be used by the student to capture creative b-roll at events or spaces on campus and conduct interviews. Additionally, this student will be responsible for editing, processing, organizing and storing videos on our shared BOX database. On occasion, the student videographer will act as an assistant to other photographers or videographers on the multimedia team. This student will also attend bi-weekly meetings over Zoom to stay on track with assignments, ask questions and discuss professional multimedia openly. 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Capture student events, direct videography shoots, conduct interviews with wireless audio microphones, and capture artistic b-roll footage for marketing purposes.

  • Operate the camera and equipment (lighting, backdrop, etc.), break down equipment, and maintain it in working condition for future shoots. 

  • Edit and deliver videos before the project deadline to be featured on the website, social media, and display screens around campus.

  • Use Asana to deliver photos and communicate with project members. 

  • Maintain storage of video projects using our shared BOX database. 

  • Develop and edit simple motion graphics.

  • Coordinate and schedule video shoots with students and staff.

  • Attend bi-weekly team meetings over Zoom.

  • Assist with multi-team marketing projects and campaigns as needed

Qualifications:  

  • Must be Work-Study eligible

  • Experience with photography or videography is preferred
