Job Summary |
The EOP Summer Bridge Program is designed to facilitate the transition of Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) first-time freshman students into a university setting. The main focus of the program is to create a supportive environment that builds community and provides students with the tools and skills needed to navigate through the university environment. Participants learn what is required to become successful college students. Student Assistants who accept this position are will be provided room and board and a summer parking permit. The position of Residential Advisors Student Assistant (RAs) of the EOP Summer Bridge Program will assist staff with the following: • Actively work during evening program hours (2:30 PM – 11:00 PM). • Live in the residence halls for availability for scheduled work hours. • Facilitate evening workshops and programming. • Monitor residence hall activities and uphold community standards to ensure a safe and respectful living environment. • Facilitate the social and academic integration of Summer Bridge students into the university community. • mentor and support a group of 15–20 students, fostering personal growth, leadership, and academic success. • Assist with informal individual and group support to address roommate and community concerns or conflicts. • Refer students to appropriate university or community resources when needed. • Promote a multicultural and inclusive community by encouraging respect and appreciation for individual differences. • Attend mandatory daily staff meetings and participate in staff development and training activities. • Plan, organize, and assist with student development activities and events. • Build meaningful one-on-one relationships with students and act as a trusted peer advisor and role model. • Collaborate closely with the Residential Lead, Summer Bridge Team and EOP Staff to support program goals. |

Minimum Qualifications |
Ability to learn and perform assigned work; follow oral instructions; work cooperatively with faculty, staff, and other students; communicate effectively with all levels; and read and write English at a level appropriate to the position. Background Check |
A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily and is required for this position. CSU will make a conditional offer of employment, which may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information, and/or it is discovered that the candidate knowingly withheld or falsified information.
