Job Summary:

This role is responsible for facilitating the creation, implementation, maintenance, and improvement of the Information Management program at Tarrant County College (TCC).

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential Performance Requirements*
⦁ Engages, educates, and trains personnel regarding recommended storage areas, taxonomies, information and data retention, departmental process mapping, the creation and submission of knowledge articles, retention regulations, and general information management processes and goals
⦁ Collaborates with cross-functional teams, including IT, academic units, and data stewards, to resolve data challenges and align governance with institutional priorities
⦁ Develops and enforces data governance standards and guidelines across the college to ensure consistency and compliance
⦁ Leads data stewardship activities, including defining metadata, business rules, and data quality standards
⦁ Oversees lifecycle management of metadata and maintains data dictionaries, classifications systems, and accurate data definitions
⦁ Analyzes the effectiveness of the current Information Management and Data Governance programs by observing usage and evaluating impact in terms of the organizational benefits
⦁ Creates, delivers, and continuously improves information management and data governance content for the College
⦁ Oversees the maintenance of knowledge bases for data and Information
⦁ Oversees the review, publication, retention, and workflow processes of knowledge articles in TCC Service Center
⦁ Offers recommendations to personnel across the College regarding information and data storage, preservation, sharing, retrieval, and deletion

Service Excellence
⦁ Participates on behalf of the College in external community organizations and associations as assigned to support the Essential Performance Requirements*
⦁ Attends the workplace regularly, reports to work punctually, and follows a work schedule to keep up with the demands of the worksite
⦁ Completes all required training and professional development sessions sponsored through Tarrant County College (TCC)
⦁ Supports the mission, values, goals, and principles of the College

Supervision
Works under the general supervision of the assigned department leader

Required Minimum Qualifications:

Master’s degree and three (3) years’ working experience related to the Essential Performance Requirements, or any equivalent combination of education and work-related experience

Preferred Qualifications:

⦁ Degree in Library or Information Science, Knowledge Management, Data Science, or equivalent area
⦁ Current CDMP (Certified Data Management Professional), IGP (Information Governance Professional), ADGP (Applied Data Governance Practitioner), CIPP (Certified Information Privacy Professional), AIGP (Artificial Intelligence Governance Professional) or closely related, data governance, data management, or information management certification
⦁ At least one (1) year’s working experience in higher education related to the Essential Performance Requirements
⦁ At lease one (1) year’s working experience using SQL for data validation and reporting

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

⦁ Knowledge of data governance frameworks and standards
⦁ Knowledge of data stewardship best practices
⦁ Knowledge of state and federal regulations related to data governance
⦁ Knowledge of process and procedure mapping
⦁ Skilled in developing taxonomies
⦁ Skilled in excellent customer service and interpersonal relationships, including strong listening, verbal, and written communication
⦁ Skilled using MS tools and TeamDynamix applications and enterprise systems, such as Teams, OneDrive, 365, and Office
⦁ Skilled in data quality tools and strong research and analytics with an ability to analyze data and provide sound recommendations based on policy, procedure, practice, and existing regulations while exhibiting strong attention to detail, organization, and planning
⦁ Skilled in managing people, projects, and programs by utilizing strong leadership principles and methodologies
⦁ Ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment
⦁ Ability to think critically to effectively solve and communicate problems in a fast-paced environment where the demands for work are varied, and unpredictable in scope and volume
⦁ Ability to maintain constructive work relationships with employees across the College
